Lending a hand to keep lawns under control

Over the past 12 months, the Hoppers Crossing Apex Club have assisted an elderly local couple with their garden maintenance. Initially, Club members used their own gardening equipment for the mowing and brush cutting, however following the receipt of a Wyndham City Council Community Grant, the Club was able to purchase a lawn mower and brush cutter for this purpose.

A fresh look for Werribee Support and Housing’s reception

Werribee Support and Housing is an immensely valuable organisation which endeavours to help those in our community who find themselves in great need. The Hoppers Crossing Apex Club have donated money to Werribee Support and Housing for several years now, however recently had the opportunity to get our hands dirty in order to assist the agency.

May the 19th to the 22nd saw a hive of activity within Werribee Support and Housing’s reception area with the Hoppers Crossing Apex Club enlisted to prepare and repaint the interior walls. It is fair to say that the room was looking very tired with flaking paint, damaged blinds, and stained carpet.

Did you know there was an Apex postage stamp in 1981?

On the 6th of April 1981 Australia Post released a postage stamp to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the founding of Apex. That of course was thirty years ago. The issue of a postage stamp in recognition of the Associations Jubilee was a great honour and reflected the high esteem in which Apex was held at that time.

Club Celebrates 30th Anniversary

On the 20th November 2010, the Apex Club of Hoppers Crossing celebrated a double milestone - the club's 30 year anniversary and its 700th Dinner Meeting.  To celebrate, the club hosted a dinner, which was attended by many apexians past and present, and guests.

New Club web site launched at 30th Anniversary Dinner

Past and present members of the Hoppers Crossing Apex Club came together on Saturday the 20th of November 2010 to partcipate in the club's 700th dinner meeting and also to celebrate the clubs 30 years of community service. At the same time, the club increased its foot print in the cyber world with the launch of a new web address - www.hopperscrossingapex.org.au - and a brand new dynamic web site.
